Baklava
How it is made
Persian baklava is thinner and less sweet than the Turkish or Greek kind: layers of pastry, ground pistachio, a rosewater and cardamom syrup, cut small. Beside it on the tray are kadayif nests, shredded pastry wrapped around pistachio.
Order two pieces with black tea, which comes with saffron rock candy, and let the tea do the rest.
